The new state-of-the-art Daktronics video board at the Anteater Aquatics Complex was dedicated on October 28, 2023, in honor of alumnus, Peter Campbell '83, a four-time All-American for the Anteaters and a member of the UC Irvine Athletics Hall of Fame. Peter played a significant role on the 1982 NCAA Championship team that went 30-0 and was named the 1982 NCAA Player of the Year.
He continued his playing career with the US National Team and represented USA twice in the Olympic Games, winning the silver medal in 1984 and 1988. He was inducted into the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame in 2000.
Funding for the video board came from a group of generous donors including the Campbell family, former teammates, and friends.
